General Rules

BeMySecret General Rules & Code of Conduct

Effective Date: July 1, 2025

Bemysecret reserves the right to modify or update these policies at any time without prior notice. Attendance and participation in any Bemysecret events imply agreement with the rules outlined below. Any violations may result in removal from the event, revocation of passes, or disqualification from future events.

GENERAL CONDUCT

  • Be respectful, kind, and courteous to fellow attendees, staff, and vendors.

  • Follow all rules of the venue, including federal, state, and local laws.

  • Discriminatory, threatening, or harassing behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Disruptive behavior or refusal to comply with staff requests may result in removal.

BADGE/TICKET POLICIES

  • All attendees must wear their Bemysecret wristbands at all times while on the event grounds.

  • Lost wristbands will not be replaced. A new one must be purchased.

  • ID may be required for entry into age-restricted areas or contests.

COSPLAY CONDUCT

  • Cosplay is not consent — harassment or inappropriate behavior toward cosplayers is strictly prohibited.

  • Respect personal space and always ask permission before taking photos.

  • No projectile props or real weapons of any kind are permitted.

  • All props must be inspected by staff upon entry.

SAFETY & PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • No smoking or vaping except in designated outdoor areas.

  • No illegal substances, open alcohol, drones, fireworks, hoverboards, or scooters.

  • No glitter, confetti, helium balloons, or adhesives on walls or booths.

  • No excessively large props, carts, or coolers unless approved in advance.

EVENT SPACE RULES

  • Seating is first come, first served. No blocking aisles or exits.

  • No loitering or creating traffic jams near entrances, exits, or vendor areas.

  • Loud or disruptive behavior during panels or contests may result in removal.

MEDIA CONSENT

By entering any Bemysecret event, you consent to being photographed or filmed. Your image or likeness may be used for promotional purposes including social media, web, and print without compensation.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform staff immediately. We will make efforts to respect your request, though we cannot guarantee full removal from crowd shots.

VENDORS & SOLICITATION

  • Unauthorized selling or soliciting is not allowed.

  • Vendors must be pre-approved and follow all booth and display guidelines.

  • Distribution of flyers or promotional material without permission is prohibited.

COMMUNITY PROTECTION POLICY

Bemysecret is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Harassment (verbal, physical, or digital)

  • Sexual misconduct or exploitation

  • Discrimination of any kind

  • Bullying or intimidation

Any violations should be reported immediately to Bemysecret staff or security. All staff, guests, and volunteers are required to behave professionally and respectfully.

BACKGROUND POLICY FOR STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND GUESTS

All individuals representing Bemysecret (staff, volunteers, cosplay judges, featured guests, media, etc.) may be subject to background checks. The following may result in disqualification:

  • History of harassment or abuse

  • Felony convictions related to violence, sexual misconduct, or harm to minors

  • Requirement to register as a sex offender

  • Misconduct at a past Bemysecret or affiliated event

Refusal to comply with the above policies may result in permanent disqualification from all Bemysecret events.
